My Organizational Coach Qualifications

I am the sole proprietor of McFarland Coaching & Consulting, a professional services firm, and an organizational coach with extensive experience in nonprofit governance and management. 

Having served as executive director of several international, nonprofit associations where, among other things, I was responsible for strategic direction, financial management (including fund development), member services, marketing, outreach and publications, as well as for ensuring that the organizations’ governing authority (i.e., bylaws), board-staff relationships, and policies and procedures operated to the best advantage of the organizations.

I have also served as president of the board of directors (trustees) of—

• Unity Christ Church in Gaithersburg, MD; and

• the National Network for Youth, a national, nonprofit association of approximately 400 community-based organizations serving runaway, homeless and other disconnected youth.

From this broad experience as chief elected and chief executive officer, I possess a holistic perspective and understanding of organizational needs and dynamics. When you also consider my training in Unity Peacemaking and my knowledge and experience as a life coach, Truth student, author and inspirational speaker, it is easy to understand how I bring a positive, insightful, and inspiring approach to helping spiritual communities develop authentic leadership, effective governance, and strategic vitality.
